The Nest Coworking has been my office since before Lettering Works officially began. It has been home to countless workshops, meetings, and events while serving as a place where friendships, connections, and ideas developed for Lettering Works.

Exactly one month ago, I announced that I was moving to Chicago and launching one last mini-series: 25 More Days of Peoria. This blog features the an official recap of the twenty-five newly added designs.

Lettering Works recently partnered with Central Illinois Artists Organization (CIAO) and the Contemporary Art Center (CAC) of Peoria to officially launch a new look for Peoria First Friday. More information on First Friday can be found at peoriafirstfriday.com.

To celebrate “The Art of the Brick” exhibition coming to Peoria, the Museum Store asked Lettering Works to create a unique sticker inspired by the exhibition. We took a quick tour of the exhibition to show off the design we came up with in the context of the impressive Lego sculptures.

Lettering Works spent the last official Saturday in Peoria surrounded by friends and supporters at local bar and pizza joint Broken Tree, celebrating local accomplishments and people who make Peoria a wonderful place to be. We even designed custom koozies for friends to remember us by!

Lettering works to establish Peoria singer-songwriter duo Projekts through professional new logo. Many local musicians don’t have easy access to lots of funds to build a brand and a business around their musical talents. Lettering Works partnered with Projekts to make their vision of having a professional look a reality.

In business, learning often happens by experience. Upon reflecting on being in business for three years, three key lessons stuck out to me. Realizations of the power of passion projects, the importance of working with people you like, and the fact that our time has value.
