The Big Wins

  1. Created a new Chicago Pope sticker! I thought the Pope would look cool decked out in some of my most popular Chicago designs, so I had to draw him. Order one (or five) for yourself here or wholesale here.

  2. Celebrated one year of marriage by returning to Sepia for a lovely dinner where we reminisced on all of the fun celebrations we had throughout the Midwest Wedding Tour. See the full recap blog post of our wedding festivities here.

General Updates + Accomplishments:

  • Added new wooden and neon signs on my website including my Chicago Hot Dog design. The “Make More Art” wooden sign and “I am an Artist” neon sign were delivered to Cary Grove High School’s Art Department. It’s extra special to have my work at CGHS because it is where I developed my love of graphic design.

  • Shared designs for a favorite musician I discovered on my last trip to London in hopes of getting their attention for a collaboration. Feel free to tag Neev in my post here to support my creative outreach efforts.

  • Restocked a handful of shops including select Rally House stores, the Blvd & Branch store at O’Hare airport, Garfield Park Conservatory, Milwaukee Art Museum, Judy Maxwell Home (owned by Joan Cusack) and Pixie & The Boy.

  • Enjoyed Chicago by attending the Logan Square Farmers Markets, the first Sundae Monday at Longman & Eagle, DJ sessions at Omarcitos, the Bradley portfolio show at the Design Museum of Chicago, a high school friend’s art show, and Titanique. I also found my first morel mushroom outside of Galena, shopped the Rent the Runway Sample Sale, visited both the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Field Museum, subbed in a bocce ball league twice, and took a weekend trip to visit my parents in Milwaukee for Mother’s Day.

  • Joined the Deeper Foundations Membership and started making some new business friends while working on refining some of my business foundations. I’m trading with Jessica and will be providing her with a sticker design later this year.

  • Submitted my work to the STA100 competition and celebrated the selected works by attending a party in Chicago. While my work wasn’t selected, highlights included seeing local design friends and chatting with design icons Jessica Hische, Mary Kate McDevitt, Chris Piascik, and Jenna Blazevich.

  • Worked on developing a mini food series of 2’’ stickers for an upcoming collaboration with Pixie & The Boy. More to come next month, but this collection will include two brand new designs: an Italian Beef and Chicago Mix popcorn.

  • Created designs for Lynch Lemonade Stand, which is a fundraiser supporting St. Jude in Peoria, Illinois. It’s always fun to reconnect and work with people that have followed along with my business since the very beginning.

  • Designed a new “Life’s An Attitude, Have a Good One” sticker per a special request from the buyer at the Milwaukee Art Museum. These will be available at MAM Store and online next month! Other new stickers that are now available include the 56 Milwaukee Bus, Daydreaming is Productive, Don’t Burn Both Ends of the Candle, and Reapply Your SPF. If ordering wholesale from Faire, please be sure to use my direct link: letteringworks.faire.com.

May was filled with a t-shirt design turned logo and branding project, lots of new sticker designs, restocks for wholesale accounts, progress on growing the wooden and neon sign collection, and tons of fun things outside of work. It was a pretty busy month, especially at the end.

In June, I’ll be ready to line up some new creative work. Reach out if you’d like help breaking through the noise with a hand-crafted design that allows you to express yourself and your message more creatively. Don’t have a budget to work together? Check out my Artist Trade Program; I accept applications on a rolling basis.
