If it wasn’t for the art department at Cary-Grove High School in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, Lettering Works might not exist.
Chelsie Tamms is the lettering artist and brand designer behind Lettering Works. She studied graphic design in both high school and college.
While attending Bradley University, she won $10,000 in startup funding which allowed her to bypass the corporate world and pursue a career as a full-time artist right out of college in 2016.
Since then, she’s grown her business to offer custom design services, consulting, and a full line of art-centric souvenir products which you can find at places like the Field Museum, Garfield Park Conservatory, Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, and the Milwaukee Art Museum.
