Inspiration from Paris & Amsterdam

THE BACKSTORY

Daniel and I have made it a priority to travel internationally at least twice a year. Our travels both inspire us creatively and serve as a well-deserved break from our respective small businesses. What started as a light-hearted joke that I wanted Daniel to take me to Paris for my 30th birthday turned into a reality, and we even added in a weekend trip to Amsterdam into the mix.

EXPLORING PARIS & AMSTERDAM

We flew into Paris from Chicago and stayed in an AirBnb near the Cimetière du Père-Lachaise for a handful of nights then we took a train to Amsterdam for the weekend and stayed in a hotel near the Museum Quarters and then returned to Paris by train to stay in an AirBnb near the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre.

Highlights of the trip included trying countless local foods and delicacies, walking an average of over 16,000 steps a day, scoring some fun pieces in Paris thrift shops, touring Amsterdam by bike, taking time to read and listen to audiobooks, catching the Rothko exhibit at the Louis Vuitton Foundation, and never waiting more than a few minutes for public transit.

The lowlights of the trip included the weather being a little cold and rainy at times and developing some type of stomach inflammation and urine infection that I brought home as a very much unwanted souvenir.

I always find so much inspiration and joy in exploring different cities and cultures. I hope you enjoy this photographic peek into our adventures!

Travel-Inspired Artwork

After our trip earlier in 2023 to Italy, I launched a collection of travel-inspired stickers. Here’s a look at them:
