BUSINESS JOURNAL: A PLACE TO CELEBRATE WINS & REFLECT - 71ST EDITION

November’s highlights included fulfilling a large order for the Field Museum, installing my art show at Logan Square Pilates and Core, working on some client projects, starting to work with a new mentee, and visiting our friends in San Francisco.

The Big Wins

  1. Restocked the Field Museum with ten, newly-barcoded stickers. This is a big accomplishment because it involved purchasing my first barcodes from GS1, setting them up, and updating my previous stickers to include them as well as working with a new gift shop management company. I am excited to have my stickers back in the gift shop.

  2. Installed my art show at Logan Square Pilates and Core. The show features over 20 layered, wooden signs. I’ve also started a series, Sunday Signs, to highlight the collection on Instagram. The art reception will be on Friday, December 12th from 7-9pm and is open to the public.

  1. Worked on custom merchandise designs for Springdale Cemetery as well as a special wedding design for a friend from high school. I’ve been working on some fun NDA projects behind the scenes as well.

  2. Had my first 1:1 mentoring session with my new mentee as part of the Adobe Creative Apprenticeship Program. I have a Spotlight Session coming up on Monday, December 22nd which is free to attend via the Discord server.

  3. Visited our friends in San Francisco. Highlights of our long weekend visit included riding in our first Waymo, going to a drag show, participating in a neighborhood cleanup and exploring a new neighborhood, sightseeing, and meeting up with a favorite Adobe friend. We also went to the St. Louis area to visit Daniel’s family for Thanksgiving.

  4. Launched new sticker sheets for Avondale and Logan Square and added a popular anti-ICE sticker in a new, mini size. I popped up at Logan Square Pilates and Core for Small Business Saturday alongside my collection of wooden signs, since I am a current artist in residence.

  5. Added Adobe Certified Professional in Graphic Design & Illustration Using Adobe Illustrator to my LinkedIn and website and completed my long list of follow ups from attending Adobe MAX last month.

  6. Had four dental appointments including emergency and comprehensive exams. I also completed my annual bloodwork and every-five-years MRA brain scan and went to my annual nephrologist appointment alongside weekly chiropractor and therapy appointments. It was a frustratingly busy month on the health front on top of having to review health insurance plans for next year (and learning my deductible will be doubling).

  7. Scheduled a presentation to Next Level Exchange mentees and alumni for December 11th, where I’ll speak on branding basics. I will be the first mentee presenter that NLE is having do a workshop.

November was a bit exhausting between managing work, installing an art show, and countless medical appointments. I am extra grateful that I get to work for myself and have a flexible schedule to accommodate all of the things that I need to get done.

In December, I’m looking forward to celebrating my mom’s birthday in Florida, seeing friends at the artist reception at LSQP, and having all my outstanding invoices paid before wrapping up my books (here’s to hoping!) I am opening up my books for 2026, so please reach out if you’d like help breaking through the noise with a hand-crafted design that allows you to express yourself and your message more creatively.

Thank you for being here, for supporting me, and for following along with my entrepreneurial journey.
