The Big Wins

  1. Collaborated with Pixie & The Boy on a mini food series of stickers for their vending machine. The 2’’ mini stickers are also available for purchase wholesale or directly here.

  2. Adobe licensed seven of my designs for embroidered patches to hand out at upcoming creative events. These patches will also be added to my shop (and wholesale offerings) soon!

General Updates + Accomplishments:

  • Hosted friends from South Carolina. Highlights of the visit included catching live jazz and comedy as well as a neighborhood happy hour bar crawl.

  • Cohosted Sunnyside Chats with Leigh at Indigo and Violet Studio. We meet the first Wednesday of each month, but July’s is moved to July 9th - grab a ticket here to join us.

  • Restocked Flyover Chicago with 900 stickers and over 400 postcards. I also restocked a handful of other shops including the Blvd & Branch and Hoypoloi Gallery shops at O’Hare, Paper & Pencil in Andersonville, and Judy Maxwell Home (which, fun fact, is owned by Joan Cusack).

  • Shared recent branding work for Lynch Lemonade Stand and Westwind Strategies. I also wrote a blog post to help small business owners decide when to invest in a professional designer (and when to actually hold off).

  • Enjoyed summertime in Chicago by attending the Designing a Better Chicago event, visiting the Museum of Science and Industry, seeing the Kimberly Akimbo Broadway show, catching my first Chicago Fire game, watching Daniel play at Montrose Saloon, and hosting my parents for an impromptu Father’s Day visit.

  • Took a trip to Milwaukee to see The Head and The Heart at Summerfest and spend time with family.

  • Shared my new Italian beef design in honor of the Bear season 4 coming out. I launched the new design in two sticker sizes and postcard form. I also introduced two other new postcards: Chicago Pope (since the stickers have been popular) and Logan Square Monument (which will match the cover of the Logan Square Community Guide when it comes out).

  • Got accepted in the Adobe Creative Apprenticeship Program as a mentor and got matched with a mentee before official onboarding. I am excited to continue my relationship working with Adobe and pouring into the next generation of designers.

With temperatures as high as the mid-90s, summertime was in full swing this June. While my social calendar was rather full, work was quite a bit slower this month than usual and I couldn’t find the motivation to work on personal projects as much as I would have liked. I was glad to be able to have new things to share this month (even though I worked on all the designs and projects in previous months).

In July, I’m hopeful that I will get to be more creative and even take on some new projects. Reach out if you’d like help breaking through the noise with a hand-crafted design that allows you to express yourself and your message more creatively. Don’t have a budget to work together? Check out my Artist Trade Program; I accept applications on a rolling basis.

Thank you for being here, for supporting me, and for following along with my entrepreneurial journey.
