Introducing the 2019 Morton Pumpkin Festival Postcards

2019 marks the second year that Lettering Works has been asked to design custom postcards for the famous Morton Pumpkin Festival. This year’s designs consisted of one 2019 festival themed design, one Morton design, and one general Morton Pumpkin Festival design.

The popular festival dates back to 1967, when the first Morton Pumpkin Festival was organized by the Morton Chamber of Commerce as an annual fundraiser and celebration of the start of the pumpkin harvest. Morton, Illinois has been considered the “Pumpkin Capital of the World” since 1978. Libby’s Pumpkin plant in Morton continues to process 85% of the world’s canned pumpkin.

The Morton Pumpkin Festival welcomes an estimated 75,000 visitors and includes over 30 special events and venues. It takes over 2,000 volunteers to pull the festival off annually. The 2019 theme is “Luck o’ the Pumpkins” - which was voted on by community members and the Morton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Morton Design

This design took inspiration from Lettering Works existing “I Heart Morton IL” design, but a pumpkin replaces the heart. The addition of “Pumpkin Capital of the World” further celebrates the importance of pumpkins to the community.

2018 Postcard Designs

The theme of the 2018 festival was S’More Pumpkin. Lettering Works created two custom postcards - one with the 2018 theme and one general Morton design.

BONUS: The OLD Postcards

Sometimes as an organization or business, you order WAY too many of a product and can’t seem to ever run out of the stock. That’s exactly what happened for the last order of Morton postcards. Apologies for the poor-quality photograph, but we can’t help but share:

OLD Morton Postcards

If you are holding on to a large stock of old promotional materials or products that aren’t cutting it for your organization or business, you shouldn’t necessarily wait until they run out to invest in a new design. It might be time for an upgrade and we’d be happy to help. Reach out to us via our Lettering Works contact form.
